Antique Car Stainless Steel Restoration & Chrome Plating
The combination of steel & chromium gives us the wonderful alloy stainless steel. There are different grades of stainless available that have varying qualities of luster & strength.
Exterior trim, grilles, cowls, rocker panels, & various other parts are stainless steel, and over time loose their luster & shape. We offer many restorative services to bring that shine back to your stainless steel part(s), including straightening, welding, & polishing.
When it comes to refinishing stainless steel, the first object is to remove any surface issues such as dents, dings, twists, etc... Once that has been completed, spot grinding is done to address deeper scratches.
For those parts that are deeply pitted or rotted, our welders will either cut out and prefabricate the rotted area, or will solder the flawed areas. Our welders have developed the skills and techniques required to address both the variety of metal and metal condition faced in restoring old metal parts.
Next, polishing & buffing of the piece will return it to a bright, chrome-like appearance. Over the years, our workers have devised a number to techniques and tools that polish the metal without damaging the fine detail.
